Reunion 2014

We were blessed with awesome weather for this years Atkinson Reunion.  There was rain looming in the forecast- tons of it.  But it cleared and we had a lot of outside time and an awesome view to enjoy.  The girls had a ton of fun as soon as we unloaded.

Thanks to a precious little spitfire named Liv, the girls got soaked at the water table and made an outfit change for supper.

After supper, we did some games and puzzles in the cabin, along with some books and then headed down to the lake to throw some rocks in.  I LOVED all being in the same cabin.  Made me secretly wish for a huge compound where we all lived together in different wings, haha.

Our next day was bright and sunny and as the guys headed off to golf, we hooked up the new sprinkler that Mom got and the girls had a blast.

After naps we swam and MAN the water was so cold.  I am more of a swim when it is 100 degrees outside and less of a swim in May person.  The girls had fun and Amelia even swam a bit without her puddle jumper!

My Graduate

I have cried about Kindergarten since February.  When Amelia turned five, I decided that she would be whisked away to K that very next morning.  Sobbing on the couch most of the night, I just looked at pictures of her as a tiny newborn and all the way through every precious stage.  I cried on and off every other night or so the next couple of months.  So, my sweet and saintly husband expected a full on meltdown at graduation.  The crazy thing was....no tears.  I was proud of her.  Insanely proud.  Well up with pride proud.  Chest puffed out proud.  But, I wasn't sad.  She had such a great year at her preschool and let me tell you, I agonized over where to send her.  So to see the little girl walk across that stage with her adorable blonde braids, and know that she was once a child I couldn't even put in the nursery without her screaming forever, no tears.  Just so, so proud.

Before the graduation, all the other classes joined the graduates to do some songs and I loved watching both of my girls up on stage together! So cute.

This post in no way means I am okay with having a baby girl who is about to enter kindergarten.  Only to document that her teacher and school were lovely and that I didn't have a breakdown at graduation.

Father/Daughter Ball

The Father/Daughter Ball is a super fun event that takes place each year in Mt. Home and this was our first year to participate!   The girls and I had so much fun picking out their fancy dresses.  I love seeing their personality come out when we do stuff like this and they had VERY set opinions of which dresses they wanted.  Even though I told them they could pick out whichever one they wanted, I tried to get in a few strong recommendations.  They weren't having it, though and both ended up with exactly what they wanted, ha.  Of course, they look beautiful no matter what!!

Ross said they danced their hearts out and had yummy treats.  They got to ride in a real carriage with real horses and that was enough to make this a smashing event.  So happy for the chance for them to go out with their Daddy and see what it is like to be treated well.  Never too young to learn what standards to set!!

Wrapping up Easter

After church on Easter Sunday, we celebrated Mom's birthday.  Can't believe she is 56 years old.  In my mind she is my age!!

We had fun hunting eggs and watching the four little girls.  They honestly make everything so much more fun.  The weather was the warmest Easter that I remember in a long time.

Then we headed to G and Pa's house for more Easter fun on the farm.
