Down on the Farm

G and Pa have been coming up to see us lately, as opposed to us driving to them. Amelia picked up on this and last Thursday announced rather dramatically that she had forgotten what their house looked like and missed all the animals. So, since Ross was working all weekend, I loaded up our stuff for a day trip to the farm. Here she is out of the car--running immediately for Frank.

He had missed her too and laid at her feet most of the day for some belly petting. Oh and the doors are open because upon arrival Elise was napping in the van. She screamed the entire hour to their house, but fell asleep on the dirt road. Classic.


G prepared Amelia a great snack outside and she tried a nectarine for the first time. She loved it and ate the whole thing! I tried one too- YUM. Amelia wanted to wear her overalls, tall socks, and braids to the farm. I got so tickled while we were getting ready.Barbara and I joked that she was going to have to try to get Elise on her side because Amelia is definitely Pa's girl.
G and Elise just a swinging. The weather was so gorgeous that morning. I'm glad we got there early because when it got hot, it got HOT. One of my favorite Amelia quotes of the day, "Well, I love wind and I love hot and today there is both."
Amelia got to feed the horses and see the new twin calves and talk to Rocketman the donkey.
She got to run around and chase Frank and eat yummy snacks. She got to be carried all around by Pa. But, her favorite part of the day was our walk to the creek. Pictures coming soon.
