Grandparents Day at MHK

 Amelia was SO excited for Grandparent's Day and school and I was too!  One of the many perks to volunteering up at the school is helping with events like this.  I got to peek in at her with G and Pa and see the excitement first hand.  LOVE volunteering as coordinator.

 

The Book Fair was up at school and Amelia scored a bag FULL of goodies from G and Pa.  G loves books as much as I do and Amelia really picked out some good books. I am always surprised by how much she gravitates towards non-fiction.  I am definitely a fiction lover and Amelia always picks books that give facts and details about animals, weather, etc.  That is definitely her daddy in her. 

 After Grandparent's Day we got Elise from preschool and all went on a walk at the Fred Berry Conservation Center.  It was a really neat trail and we enjoyed our first time over there.  I hope to go back during the summer when they have programs for the kids. 

 

A really great day and we are so glad that Pa took off work so we could all be together!

Halloween 2014

Amelia got to wear her costume to school, but chose a pirate outfit out of the dress up box to "save" her real costume for that night.  Hilarious.  Elise had spider dress up day and was perfectly content with that.  Amelia was reallly in character here, crack me up.

The Butlers came and trick or treated with us in their old neighborhood and it was a nice and relaxing night.  We decided not to do the huge festival at our church this year.  It was so crowded last year and I felt like we were rushing home to trick or treat and I just decided this year we would take our time getting to the houses and it was such a great choice! It was very cold and Amelia decided to wear her pirate outfit again and Elise wore the spider costume that has been worn many times.  Hilarious choices.

 The girls thought my clown get-up was hilarious, but looking at this picture freaks me out.  Haha.  I am lucky they didn't have bad dreams.

One precious house gave out beanie babies!!!!!  Joy, joy.  

Fall Fun

 Eeeek. SO BEHIND.  Not sure if it will be worth it to try and catch up?  I'll give it a go for the girls sake.  They had a fit when I told them that I wasn't printing off any more blog books, so maybe they really WILL read them when they are older?  Had to document another trip to the girls absolute favorite place- SDC!  We went with the whole Halsted crew and had a blast. 

 Aunt Jessalyn rode all the fast and crazy rides with Milbug.

 The weather was perfect and we decided to take a minute out to ride the train.  Elise always asks and we usually say there is just not enough time to fit it in. So glad we rode it.  She was so happy and it was a nice break. 

Pumpkin Patch Year Six

The Pumpkin Patch tradition with The Hendersons is my favorite.  It is probably less about the pumpkins and much more about them spending the night and the togetherness, haha.  Either way, we were going strong for year six and I just couldn't believe it when I realized another sweet baby (GIRL) will join us next year! The girls all play so well together and it just makes my heart so happy.  We did some Legos and some coloring- lots of babies and dress up.  Some lounging and snuggling. 

Last year we almost ROASTED and this year it was pretty chilly.  Perfect weather and we almost had the place to ourselves. 

The girls LOVE this mulch mountain.  Crazy messy and smooshy and hilarious.

Soccer Season, Take One

 My sweet little Leesey decided she wanted to play soccer.  I told her that she would have to give up gymnastics or dance and she gave up gymnastics without a second look back.  Which totally surprised me because I thought she was LOVING her gymnastics class.  Kids just always keep ya guessing.  Part of their charm, haha.  SO, we signed her up for soccer at church and long story short, I ended up being the coach.  With Ross's "help." 

It was such a great season (once I got over the fact that they were three and couldn't quite follow along with all the drills I asked them to do) for Elise and her friends.  She ended up knowing several kids on her team and several on the other.  In fact, she never ever wanted to kick the ball away from the people she knew on the other team.  Super cute and frustrating, ha.  She has such a sweet little spirit.  Family even came over and supported her for several games!

Elise is incredibly fast and scored several goals throughout the season.  It is exhilarating watching your kid out there trying hard and running for the ball.  My competitive/ proud mom/ sports fanatic self was out in full force.  I am immensely proud of my girl for trying something new!
