A Bit of This and That

My girls have been obsessed with rainbows lately.  G taught them this song, "In the Rainbow," and they learned the words very quickly and have been singing it nonstop. So, we had a family rainbow painting party and had a blast.  Great song for learning the colors in the correct order.

Purpose of this picture is to document my love for this vintage owl sweater, Target, and Elise's killer smile.

--------
Elise Mae is potty trained!! She has done a great job with just a few accidents if she gets busy and I forget to ask.  She wears panties everywhere we go and we are out and about a lot.  I am happy to report that we have been in the bathroom of every restaurant, store, school, library, etc that we have been to, haha.  I am super proud of my girl!!

----------
Easter has come and gone, but here are some pics of Amelia's Easter hunt at school.  Mrs. Lisa let Elise participate of course, and it was hilarious watching her running after eggs.  The class had a limit of finding ten each, and Gavin brought extra to let Elise hunt.  So sweet!

 --------
Aunt Jen came to color some eggs with us and I had to show how pretty our eggs turned out!  We did crayons on hot eggs (via Pinterest) and they melted and turned so neat after they were dyed.

Barbara got me this cute ceramic egg basket a few years ago and I love how dyed eggs look in it!
 ---------
I saw this activity online and the girls loved it.  I colored some rectangles and had Elise stick the appropriate colored sticker on the matching rectangle.  Some rectangles were just left blank.  She did great and worked on it while I cooked.
For Buzz, I wrote out the color word and she stuck the sticker on the word that matched.  I got a whole packet of these round stickers for a dollar.  Fun activity for both while I got supper ready!

Last Snow of the Year

We had a late March snow that I wanted to blog about because it was our biggest one!  The girls and I even got the sled out.  I couldn't figure out how to use Ross's shop vac to air it up, so I literally almost passed out trying to get the sled to inflate.  However, it was way worth it because it was the perfect snow for sledding.  We had such a blast that day.  I am grateful for all the fun we had outside this winter.

My totally chic snow attire.  Oh the glam.

The girls finally got to make a decent sized snow man and they named him Manny.  Amelia's winter was complete.  And yes, Elise has her cheek up against his, "cold, cold, head."

Sledding was hysterical.  We screamed and laughed the whole time because they went so fast and I tried to run beside them to keep them from crashing into things.  One of my favorite days of the winter.  Trying so hard to bank these memories deep inside to call upon when they are older and in school every day.  Love these babies so much.

Spring Break 2013

I was so excited that Steph brought the girls up on a day of her Spring Break!  Usually we go to Harrison because everyone is there, so it is always a special treat when someone comes to us!!  The girls started playing right away. Especially the three bigs- Liv was running all through the house, haha.

After lunch we decorated sugar cookies, and ate them of course!

Then Steph and I made a bold move to SKIP naps and head to the zoo in the COLD.  Yes, I willingly and on purpose had Elise skip a nap.  The Heather of yesteryear would ne'er had considered such a thing, but I have learned to bend a little with child two.  (a little)  When we announced that we were going to the zoo, these kids just flipped!!  It was so fun watching Ing because she has only been to the zoo once and she was just so, so excited.

Double bonus was that Amy Jo, Will, and Walker had called and they were driving up from Harrison to go to the zoo, so we had mega friend power that day!

Elise wouldn't walk with me, but had no problem walking with Amy at the back of the pack! She loves her so.
As Steph said, this raccoon was awesomely weird crawling up the fence to see us.

Truly the best day.  Steph and the girls stayed until bedtime and as they left Elise dissolved in a fit of tears begging them to stay.  Couldn't even brush her teeth without bawling...

Build a Bear (Again)

The weekend before Easter, we met on a Friday morning at Build-a-Bear in Branson for the girls to get their Easter present from Gammy and Gampy.  This was extra special because my dad was able to come on a Friday due to his new days off.  He doesn't get weekends off anymore, which is a bummer, but this was a positive for sure.  We had hoped the weather wouldn't be absolutely freezing, and lo and behold, it was a beautiful 70 degree day.  Unreal.  I was so thankful for this fun, laid back day.

Chicky Chick and Flowers
Then we got to play on the playground at The Landing for the first time and it wasn't crowded (even though the girls are over, I still have big crazy momma bear trouble in crowded play areas).  Super fun.  Dad and Amelia created a game about jumping over treasures and not walking on tickle spots.  He is such a fun and creative Gamp.

I just love this picture!!  Mom got the girls new sunglasses and Amelia made a wardrobe change into a new orange skirt.

Elise LOVES her Gampy

It was such an awesome day and we went back to Gammy and Gampy's for more fun!
